Question 332564: Hello Can someone please help me I stuck on this problem. Please help me I did work most of the problem but I stuck where it come to the Chebyshev's Theorem. Thank you so much for your help.
1. For a particular sample of 50 scores on a psychology exam, the following results were obtained.
First quartile = 44 Third quartile = 68 Standard deviation = 9 Range = 55
Mean = 51 Median = 54 Mode = 71 Midrange = 64
Answer each of the following; show all work.
- What score was earned by more students than any other score? Why?
(a) 71 was the score obtained by students more than any other score. This is because the mode is 71.
- What was the highest score earned on the exam? 78
Answer: Range =55
Midrange =64
Highest score = Midrange + =64 +27.5 = 91.5
What was the lowest score earned on the exam?
-
Lowest Score = Midrange – range/2 = 64 –27.5 = 36.5

- According to Chebyshev's Theorem, how many students scored between 24 and 78?
- Assume that the distribution is normal. Based on the Empirical Rule, how many students scored between 24 and 78?

Where is the number of standard deviations from the mean.

Percent between 24 and 78 is thus AT LEAST .

Empirical says that of data lies within 3 standard deviations of the mean.
