You can put this solution on YOUR website!
john owns 1/2
kate owns 1/2
..
2/3 of 1/2 = 2/3* 1/2 = 1/3.
John gave 1/3 of his stock of 1/2
..
1/2 - 1/3 ( LCD = 6)
= (3-2)/ 6
= 1/6 ..
he gave 1/6 . kate had 1/2
so kate has 1/6+1/2
LCD = 6
(1+3)/6
= 4/6
=2/3 of the stock is what kate owns now.
