You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Rate*Time=Distance

.
Car 1: 40%2At=D1
Car 2: 20%2At=D2
Find t when D1%2BD2=300,
40%2At%2B20%2At=300
60t=300
t=5 hrs

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=rt where D=distance, r=raste and t=time
If one car is traveling 40mph and the other car is traveling 20mph then in 1 hour hey will be 60 miles apart
so 300=60t divide both sides byy 60
300/60=t
t=5 hours
