You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let number of adult tkts sold be A and that for students be S.
Therefore,
A + S = 295 or S = 295 - A ...(1)
5A + 2S = 950 ...(2)
Substituting equation (1) in equation (2)
5A + 2(295 - A) = 950
5A + 590 - 2A = 950
3A = 360
Number of adult tickets sold, A = 120
Putting the value of A in equation (1)
Number of student tickets sold, S = 295 - 120 = 175
