Question 330708: why does the inequality sign change when both signs are multiplied or divided by a negative number? Does this happen with equations? Answer by dewasmaharaja(5) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! This is because 5 > 2, but when multiplied on both sides by -1, -5 < -2.
This happens with equations also for the exact same reason.
