You can put this solution on YOUR website!
50x100=5000 area of rectangle
(50+12)(100+12)= added 6ft wide on both sides of width and length
62%28112%29=6944new rectangle including side walk
6944-5000=highlight%281944%29bigger rectangle minuse original rectangle gets u area of side walk

A rectangular planting field, 50 yards by 100 yards is surrounded on all sides
by a concrete pedestrian walk 6 feet wide.
What is the number of square feet in the surface of the walk?
:
Convert the concrete walk width to yds, 6ft = 2yd
:
The overall dimensions (in yds) will be (50+4) by (100+4);
:
The surface of the walk (A) = the overall area - planting field area
A = (54*104) - (50*100)
A = 5615 - 5000
A = 615 sq/yds
But they want it in sq/ft
9 * 615 = 5,544 sq/ft
