Question 330554: Hi
I am needing help with solving the following system of equations
x + 3y = 4 (1)
x = 7-3y (2)
What is the solution or is there no solution?
Thanks a bunch.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+%2B+3y+=+4
x+=+7-3y
Substitute eq. 2 directly into eq. 1,
%287-3y%29%2B3y=4
7=4
Since the equations lead to an inconsistency, there is no solution.
The two lines are parallel and never intersect.
