-2x-4(x-2)=3x+5
I used distributive property for the -4, multiplying it by both the x and the -2. ??????

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I can't quite see how you got +3 but here's how it should go:
-2x-4%28x-2%29+=+3x%2B5 Apply the distributive property.
-2x-4x%2B8+=+3x%2B5 Combine like-terms.
-6x%2B8+=+3x%2B5 Add 6x to both sides.
8+=+9x%2B5 Subtract 5 from both sides.
3+=+9x Divide both sides by 9.
3%2F9+=+x Simplify.
x+=+1%2F3
