Question 32968: Jim is playing blackjack his first card is a ten card. How does this affect the chance of getting 21 on his next draw? How does knowing the first card affect the second? Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Assuming that no other cards have been dealt from he deck,
there are now 51 cards left in the deck.
Four of those cards are Ace's. Jim chances of getting a
21 count are 4/51.
It changes his chances of getting a hand of count 21.
For example, if Jim gets an ace on the first card his
chances of getting a count of 21 with the second card
are 20/51. Can you figure that out?
