You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let freight train speed be x mph
passanger train will be x+6 mph
..
distance traveled by freight train =270 miles
passanger train travels 300 miles.
..
Time taken by freight train = 270/x
time taken by passenger train = 300/x+6
..
the times are same
270/x = 300(x+6)
270(x+6)=300x
270x+1620=300x
300x-270x=1620
30x= 1620
x=1620/30
x=54 mph speed of freight train
passanger train speed = x+6 = 54+6 = 60 mph
