Question 32813: 7/16 and 3/8
How can you use the language of fractions to express the sizes of the two wrenches so that they can be effectively compared? And, how can you use decimals instead of fraction to express the size of each??......please explain very simply ;) Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 7/16 & 3/8 CHANGE THE SECOND FRACTION TO 6/16 BY MULTIPLYING NUMERATOR & DENOMINATOR BY 2/2 (2/2=1) THEREFORE THE VALUE HAS NOT CHANGED ONLY THE DIGITS. NOW YOU CAN COMPARE THE TWO FRACTIONS.
7/16 IS 1/16 GREATER THAN THE 3/8 WRENCH.
7/16 & 3/8 IN DECIMAL FORM ARE .4375 & .375 OR A DIFFERENCE OF .0625
