=> -5m + -7 > -12
=> -5m - 7 > -12
=> m > -5/5 = -1 ...(i)
Again, -5m + -7 < 8
=> -5m < 15
=> m < 15/(-5) = -3...................(ii)
From (i) and (ii), we have
m > -1, m < -3.
