You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Katy travels a distance of 50t miles.
Jensen travels a distance of 70(t-1), because he leaves an hour later.
Between them they travel 260 miles.
50t%2B70%28t-1%29=260
50t%2B70t-70=260
120t=330
t=11%2F4=2.75 hours.
This means Kate drove for 2 hours and 45 minutes and met Jensen at 12:45 pm.
Since Jensen left an hour later, he drove for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Kate drove 50*(11/4)=137.5 miles and Jensen drove 70*(7/4)=122.5 miles. Add them and we get 260 miles total.
