I'm also supposed to "factor each polynomial. 9a^2 - 64b^2. Can you show me the steps of this one too?

(a+1) is common in the expression
(a+1)(a-3)
..
9a^2 - 64b^2.
this can be written as
+%283a%29%5E2-%288b%29%5E2+
use the difference of squares formuls
a%5E2-b%5E2=%28a%2Bb%29%28a-b%29
In our equation a corresponds to 3a & b corresponds to 3b
