You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let width be x
length = 3x-5
Area = 78 sq. yards
x%283x-5%29=78
3x%5E2-5x=78
add -78 to both sides
3x%5E2-5x-78+=78-78
3x%5E2-5x-78=0
the roots of the equation x1, x2 can be found out by the formula
x1=%28-b+%2Bsqrt%28b%5E2-4ac%29%29%2F2a
a= 3 , b= -5 , c = -78
x1=%28-%28-5%29+%2Bsqrt%28%28-5%29%5E2-4%2A3%2A-78%29%29%2F%282%2A3%29
x1=6 yards the width
length = 3x-5 = 3*6-5
=13 yards
x2= -4.3333
x2 is negative so we ignore
