That simply means that x can be any real number so long as it is larger than -7:
Note that your inequality symbol was rather than , so the right end of your interval is a parenthesis indicating non-inclusive. Had it been , you would have had a [ instead of a (. The other end is so the end marker is ALWAYS open, that is ).
