Question 325955: I am stuck on a word problem: A woman has $16,000 invested in stock A and stock B. Stock A sells for $30 a share and stock B sells for $70 a share. If stock B triples in value and stock A goes up 50%, her stock will be worth $34,500. How many shares of each stock does she own?
I set up two equations that I think represent the problem: 30a+%2B+70b=16000 and 45a%2B210b=34500. Am I on the right track?
