Equation:
270%2F40=150%2Fx
40(150)+270x
270x=6000
x=22.22
Hence, the current is 22.22A.

I = k/R
40 = k/270
=> k = 270*40
Thus, I = 270*40/R
When R=150, I = 270*40/(150) = 270*4/15 = 72
