Question 324525: a marble is selected at random containing 5 red marbles, 3 yellow marbles and 2 green marbles. what are the odds in favor of selecting a red marble? Answer by Jstrasner(112) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hey,
For this one you simply add up all of the marbles and write the probability of the red marbles over the total number of marbles. Therefore:
2 + 3 + 5 = 10
There are 5 red marbles, therefore:
5/10 = 1/2
The probability of picking a red marble is 1/2.
I hope this helps!
