You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a film, actor Charles Coburn plays an elderly "uncle" character criticized for marrying a woman when he is 3 times her age. He wittingly replies, "Ah, but in 20 years time I shall only be twice her age." How old is the "uncle" and his wife at the present time?
equation she is X. He is 3X.
Knowing she is at least 18 to marry.
She is 20 years old which makes him.
So if she is 20, then
X = 20 and he is 3X then 3*20 is 60
In 20 years she is X + 20 and He is 3X + 20
her formula
20+20 = 40
his formula
3*20+20 = 80
