1/8 + 2/b - 1/12 = 0
Step 1, get rid of fractions. Multiply thru by 96b, the product of the DENs.
12b + 192 - 8b = 0
4b = -192
b = -48
----------------
You can waste time finding the LCD, but it's just that, a waste of time.
