x(x+6)=0
I just don't understand the steps to get the answer. Can you show me step by step to solve this? This problem was in a chapter for factoring. The only directions for this problem was to solve. Found 2 solutions by jim_thompson5910, Alan3354:Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x(x+6)=0
-----------
If the product is zero, either x or x+6 has to be zero.
--> x = 0
---------
x+6 = 0
x = -6
-------
Quadratic (2nd order) equations have 2 solutions.
Cubic (3rd order) have 3, etc.
