You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The average of 6 numbers is 10. If the average of 4 numbers is 12, then what is the average of the remaining 2 numbers?
----
The 6 numbers add up to 6*10 = 60
The 4 numbers add up to 4*12 = 48
---
The remaining 2 numbers must add up to 60-48=12
---
So the average of the remaining 2 numbers is 12/2 = 6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the numbers = a, b, c, d, e, and f
given:
%28a%2Bb%2Bc%2Bd%2Be%2Bf%29%2F6+=+10
%28a%2Bb%2Bc%2Bd%29%2F4+=+12
a+%2B+b+%2B+c+%2B+d+=+48
by substitution:
%2848+%2B+e+%2B+f%29%2F6+=+10
48+%2B+e+%2B+f+=+60
e+%2B+f+=+12
%28e%2Bf%29%2F2+=+12%2F2
%28e+%2B+f%29%2F2+=+6
the average of the remaining 2 numbers is 6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
average of 6 numbers = 10
total of thses 6 numbers = 60.
..
Average of 4 numbers is 12
total of 4 numbers = 40
..
difference of these totals is the total of balance 2 numbers
60-48 = 12
12 is the total of 2 numbers
so the average = 12/2 = 6
..
Average of 2 numbers is 6
