Question 322662: The perimeter of a rectangle is 100 feet. If its length is 2 feet longer than three times its width, find the length and width. (MUST USE EITHER ADDITION OR SUBSTITUTION METHOD.)
All I want to know is what the second equation is.
First equation should be (x=length, y=width)
2x+2y=100

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if you assign (x=length, y=width) to equation 1, then the second, "length is 2 feet longer than three times its width",(L=3w%2B2) would be x=3y%2B2
