TO solve thie problem you should understand the distributive property. That is, the expression a(b + c) is the same thing as ab + ac. In this problem, you have:

3x + 2(5x - 7)

using the distributive property on the 2(5x -7) part of the expression, we get:

3x+%2B+2%2A5x+-+2%2A7+=+3x+%2B+10x+-+14

Next we group like terms:

13x+-+14

So, the problem simplifies to 13x - 14
