You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let amount invested at 9% be "x" Then amount invested at 10% must be "x+500"
 Interest on the 9% investment is 0.09x
 Interest on the 10% investment is .10(x+500)=0.10x+50
 EQUTION:
 Interest + Interest = $183
 0.09x + 0.10x+50 = 183
 9x + 10x + 5000 = 18300
 19x= 13300
 x=$700 (amount invested at 9%)
 x+500= $1200 (amount invested at 10%)
