SOLUTION: log5 125^-3
I got this:
log 5 (125^ -3) = -3 log 5(125) = -3(+3) = -9 since 125 = 5^3 we get log5(125) = 3

The number of industrial jobs in Fulton County is decreasin by 9% per yr. If there are 12,600 industrial jobs in Fulton Cty this yr, estimate the number if industrial jobs, to the nearest hundred in 10yrs Choices 1) 29,800 2) 11,300 3) 4900 4) 1300
I got 29,800 by doing this 12 600 (1.09)^1 0 = 29800--but obviously the number of jobs will be more than 12 600 and only the one choice is possible, but my answer is not right..... Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
No matter how you do it, it comes out the same way.
If your instructor told you that , ask for your tuition money back. If your textbook says that is equal to something other than -9 or some equivalent expression, go back to the bookstore and ask for your money back. If one of your classmates told you that is not right, then here's a clue: Your classmates probably aren't as smart as you, so don't believe them.
