| Question 31947: (Urgent Help Needed I will really appriciate it...
 Basal Energy requirements. The basal eanergy requirement B is the number of calories that a person needs to maintain the life process. For a 28 yr old female with height of 160 centimeters and weight 45 kilograms, B is 1300 calories. If her weight increases to 50kg then B is 1365 calories. There is a linear equation that express B in terms of weight w . Find the equation and find the basal energy requirements if her weight is 53.2kg

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You have two points, (45,1300) and (50,1365) Determine an equation of the form B=(m)w+k
 m=65/5=13
 With B=1300, w=45, and m=13, find k, as follows:
 1300=13(45)+k
 1300=585+k
 m=715
 Equation: B=13w+715
 B(53.2)=13(53.2)+715
 B(53.2)=1406.6 (Basal energy for woman of 53.2kg)
