SOLUTION: Factor 8w*2 - 14w + 3 I get 8w*2 - 12w - 2w + 3 then 4w(2w - 3) - (2w + 3) I even understand making it -1 but I am having a hard time understanding how (2w + 3) becomes (2w

Question 319136: Factor
8w*2 - 14w + 3
I get
8w*2 - 12w - 2w + 3
then
4w(2w - 3) - (2w + 3) I even understand making it -1 but I am having a hard time understanding how (2w + 3) becomes (2w - 3) as the answer would be (4w-1)(2w-3)
Thanks in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When you factored out the -1 from the last two terms 2w%2B3, you need to factor it from 3 as well. So you should have gotten 4w%282w+-+3%29+-+%282w+-+3%29 since -%282w-3%29=-2w-%28-3%29=-2w%2B3
