What you want to do here is get rid of the g in the denominator. Therefore, you should multiply both sides of the equation by g:
6g+=+%2824%2Fg%29g
But the g's in the right hand side cancel each other out:
6g+=+24
Finally, divide everything by 6 to isolate g:
g+=+24%2F6+=+4
So g = 4.
