The sides of the triangles are 8 inches (48/6).
The base of each triangle is 8. The height is sqrt%288%5E2+-+4%5E2%29+=+4sqrt%283%29
The area of each triangle is b*h/2 = 16sqrt%283%29
All 6 triangles have an area of 96sqrt%283%29 sq inches.
