Question 318819: Complete each statement with the word always, sometimes, or never.
1 If a triangle is isosceles, then it is _________ equilateral.
2 If a triangle is equilateral, then it is _________ isosceles.
3 If a triangle is scalene, then it is _________ isosceles.
4 If a triangle is obtuse, then it is _________ isosceles.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For a triangle to be equilateral, it must have exactly 3 equal sides.
For a triangle to be isosceles, it must have AT LEAST 2 equal sides. (Nothing in this definition says that an isosceles triangle can't have 3 equal sides, it just doesn't have to have 3, only 2)
For a triangle to be scalene, it must have three UNEQUAL sides.
Knowing that a triangle is obtuse says nothing about the length of the sides, except that an obtuse triangle, needing one angle greater than 90 degrees, cannot be equilateral because equilateral triangles are also equiangular triangles, hence all three angles of an equilateral triangle measure 60 degrees.
I've given you sufficient information to answer the four questions.
