Question 31746: Question reads:
Write the partial fraction decomposition of the rational expression:
-x/(x+6) (x+5)
Possible Answers:
(A) 5/x+6 + -6/x+5
(B) 6/11/x+6 + -5/11/x+5
(C) -6/x+6 + 5/ X+5
(D) -6/11?x+6 + 5/11/x+5
These are a lot of numbers. Please be specific when choosing an option.Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let -x/(x+6) (x+5) = A/(x+6) + B/(x+5)
=> -x = A(x+5) + B(x+6)
for x=-5, 5 = B (from the above equation);
for x=-6, 6 = -A => A = -6
So, the partial fraction decomposition is:
-6/(x+6) + 5/(x+5)
Correct answer is C;
When you send the "Thank You" message, would you please let me know the school grade level in which Partial Fraction Decomposition is taught? Thanks
