I'm assuming that you meant to write f%28x%29=-8x-2. This can be written as y=-8x-2 since 'y' and 'f(x)' are really one in the same in this case.


Notice how y=-8x-2 is in slope-intercept form y=mx%2Bb where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.


So this shows us that the slope is m=-8 and the y-intercept is b=-2. The y-intercept is the point (-2,0).


That's all there is to it.
