if you do long division of z-4 into z%5E3-64 you get the other factor of z%5E2%2B4z%2B16. So,

+%28z%5E3-64%29%2F%28z-4%29+ --> z%5E2%2B4z%2B16

This is just like saying what is 32/8? You do the division and find that it is precisely 4. So the answer is 4. It is exactly the same with algebraic expressions.
