Question 315748: How do I SIMPLIFY the rational expression
%282x%2B1%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+%2B+%284x%2B11%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%282x%2B1%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+%2B+%284x%2B11%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

Since they have the same denominator just put the sum of
the numerators over the common denominator

%28%282x%2B1%29%2B+%284x%2B11%29%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

Remove the parentheses:

%282x%2B1%2B+4x%2B11%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

%286x%2B12%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

Factor 6 out of the numerator:

%286%28x%2B2%29%29%2F%28x%2B2%29

Cancel the %28x%2B2%29's

%286%28cross%28x%2B2%29%29%29%2F%28cross%28x%2B2%29%29

The answer is just

6
