SOLUTION: I have two questions. solve the equation. 1/x+7 + 5/x+6 = -1/x^2+13x+42. The second one is 9/y+2 - 3/y-2 = 12/y^2-4. Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For future reference, don't be shy about using parentheses especially with complicated fraction expressions.
I think you mean like this,
1/(x+7) + 5/(x+6) = -1/(x^2+13x+42)
1%2F%28x%2B7%29++%2B++5%2F%28x%2B6%29++=+-1%2F%28x%5E2%2B13x%2B42%29
1%2F%28x%2B7%29++%2B++5%2F%28x%2B6%29++=+-1%2F%28%28x%2B7%29%28x%2B6%29%29
1%28x%2B6%29%2B5%28x%2B7%29=-1
x%2B6%2B5x%2B35=-1
6x%2B41=-1
6x=-42
x=-7
However, one of the implicit assumptions we made was that x did not equal -6 and -7 which would cause a division by zero.
So there is no solution.
