Question 314896: Given regular die (6 sides),(a) how many possible outcomes are there? (b)List the possible outcomes (Assuming this is a fair die (all have the same probability), what is the probability), what is teh possibility of tossing a 5? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
Let's see, 6 sides...hmmm, how about 6 possible outcomes? You think? Listing the possible outcomes requires knowing what is printed/embossed/engraved on the faces of the die. If it is a standard die with dots, then one of the outcomes is 1 dot, another is 2 dots...you should be able to take it from here. But remember to stop at 6.
The probability of a 5. The probability of anything is the number of ways that something can happen that you consider to be a success divided by the number of total ways that a thing can happen. If there is only one face of the die that has a 5 (or 5 dots), then that tells us how big our numerator is, and we already know what the denominator is.
