Set up a table of possible outcomes.


There are 8 outcomes in all (S is spade and NS is not a spade).
After the row, is the number of spades in each row.
You can then set up the probabilities to mimic the table.

To get the probabilities for each row, multiply across.
So the first row, 3 spades would be (13/52)(12/51)(11/50)=0.012941
Do this for each row.

Then add the probabilities for the number of spades (after each total)to get the probability distribution.
EXCEL is the perfect tool for this work.

1 spade 0.413
2 spades 0.127
3 spades 0.013
They should sum to 1 (they do).
