Distance equals Rate times Time, so since the trip home took 1.5 hours at 1.5 mph, the distance must be 1.5 times 1.5 = 2.25 miles.

But if Distance equals Rate times Time, then Time must equal Distance divided by Rate. Since the Distance is now known to be 2.25 miles, we can divide by 2.5 mph to get 0.9 hours. There are 60 minutes in an hour, so 0.9 times 60 is 54 minutes.
