You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The letters of the word Mississippi are placed in a hat. What is the probability that the first two letters drawn are both "i" if the first letter drawn is not replaced?

There are 11 letters in the hat to begin with, 4 of which are i's.

4%2F11ths of the time the first letter drawn will be an "i".

Of those 4%2F11ths of the time when the first letter is an "i",

3%2F10ths of those times, the second letter will also be an "i",

because ther will be only 10 letters of which only 3 are i's. So

3%2F10ths of 4%2F11ths is 3%2F10%22%D7%224%2F11%22=%2212%2F110ths of the time the first two will be "i"'s.
