Question 314383: The angles of a triangle are represented by 5x, (8x-1) and (12x+6) in degrees. Find the measures of the angles of the triangle.
Can you please talk me through how this would be figured out. Thanks Lisa

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The angles in every triangle sum to 180.
5x%2B%288x-1%29%2B%2812x%2B6%29=180
25x%2B5=180
25x=175
x=7
Now that you know x, you can solve for each angle.
Angle 1: 5x=5%287%29=35 degrees
Angle 2: 8x-1=8%287%29-1=56-1=55 degrees
Angle 3: 12x%2B6=12%287%29%2B6=84%2B6=90 degrees
