Question 314335: The sum of three times a number and 83 is the same as twice the difference of the number and 17. Find the number.
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x = the number
The equation is
3x+83= 2(x-17)
3x+83=2x-34
3x-2x+83=2x-2x-34
x+83=-34
x=-34-83
x=-117
