You can put this solution on YOUR website! 9. The solution to (x+3)^2 - 25= 0
10. What is the discriminate of 2x^2 - 3x -5 = 0????
-------------------
How can you have problems like 9 and 10, when you don't know how to do #2 and #3?
-------------
Getting the answers won't be much help.
9. The solution to (x+3)^2 - 25= 0
(x+3)^2 = 25
Take the square root of both sides
x+3 = ± 5
x = 2
x = -8
-----------
10. What is the discriminate of 2x^2 - 3x -5 = 0????
It's discriminant.
Disc = b^2 - 4ac = 9 - 4*2*(-5) = 9 + 40
Disc = 49
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hello,
I'll do #3 for you. Let's see if you can do the rest of the problems.
6-6(x-2)= 3(3x+1) This can be rewritten as:
6-6x+12= 9x+3 Combine like terms and add 6x to each side to get:
18=15x+3 Now subtract 3 from both sides to get:
15=15x Divide each side by 15 to get:
x=1
The whole idea is to get x by itself on one side of the equal sign.
To check if it's correct plug the answer into the original problem.
Make sense?
