What is the exact area of a circle with a diameter of 15 inches
I think it would be 15pi square inches?

No that's the circumference, the distance around the circle,
not the area, which is the amount of space inside the circle:
You found C=pi%2Ad=pi%2A15=15pi inches, though the circumference
would be in inches, not square inches

You don't want the circumference, you want the area, which is
found by the formula A=pi%2Ar%5E2

To find the area, we need the radius, not the diameter.
The radius is 1%2F2 of the diameter.

So the radius is 1%2F2%22%D7%2215 or 15%2F2

Substituting 15%2F2 for r in the formula for the area of a circle:

A+=+pi%2Ar%5E2
A+=+pi%2815%2F2%29%5E2
A+=+pi%2A%28225%2F4%29
A=225pi%2F4 square inches or about 176.7 square inches.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Start with the formula for area of a circle:
A+=+pi%2Ar%5E2
Since d = 15, the radius = 7.5
Substitute 7.5 in place of r in the formula:
A+=+pi%2A7.5%5E2
Area+=+56.25piin%5E2
