Question 311866: Determine if the equations are intersecting, parallel, or coincident.
2x-y=c
x+2y=d
The variables c and d are throwing me off. Before I substituted coordinates to find an answer but what do I do with c & d.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Determine if the equations are intersecting, parallel, or coincident.
2x-y=c
x+2y=d
:
put both equations in the slope/intercept form y = mx + b
:
2x - y = c
-y = -2x + c
Multiply by -1
y = 2x - c
slope = 2
:
x + 2y = d
2y = -x + d
y = -1%2F2x + d%2F2
slope = -1%2F2
:
These slopes indicate the lines intersect and are perpendicular
