1.A%2BB=-1
"Five times the first number equals 3 times the second number"
2.5A=3B
From eq. 1,
A%2BB=-1
Multiply both sides by 5,
5A%2B5B=-5
Now substitute eq. 2 into eq. 1,
3B%2B5B=-5
8B=-5

5A=3B
5A=3%28-5%2F8%29
