Question 30968: Two cars start together and travel in the same direction, one going twice as fast as the other. At the end of 3 hours, they are 96 miles apart. How fast is each car traveling? Answer by Paul(988) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let one car's speed be x
Let another car's speed be 2x
Equation:
3(2x-x)=96
3x=96
x=32
2(32)=64
Hence, one car is travelling at 32mph and another one is travelling at 64mph.
