The question is: Write this equation in standard form. y=4/5x+9 I got the answer to be 4x-5y=45. My brothers teacher got 4x-5y=-45.
PLEASE tell me the answer. Thank you.

Hey Cody. Your teacher is indeed correct
the original equation y=%284%2F5%29%2Ax%2B9
you had the right idea when you got to
%28-4%2F5%29x%2By=9 multiply through by 5
-4x%2B5y=45 multiply through by -1, this switches the signs of all the terms to give you
4x-5y=-45
You algebra is correct but you forgot to multiply the 45 by the negative 1
