You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A farmer has a square plot of land.
An irrigation system can be installed with the option of one large circular sprinkler, or nine small sprinklers.
The farmer wants to know which plan will provide water to the greatest
percentage of land in the field, regardless of the cost and the watering pattern.”
:
We can use an example. Assume a square field 90' on a side
:
then diameter of circular area will be 90' also. r = 45
A = pi%2A45%5E2
A = 6362 sq/ft
:
Using 9 circular sprinklers, each would have a diameter of 30'. r = 15
A = pi%2A15%5E2%2A9
A = 6362 sq/ft Also!!
